DOMANI・明日展とは文化庁は、将来の我が国の芸術界を支える芸術家を支援するため、若手芸術家を海外に派遣し、その専門とする分野について研修の機会を提供する、「芸術家在外研修（新進芸術家海外留学制度）」を昭和42年度から実施し、美術部門での派遣者は1,000人を超えています。 その研修の成果発表である本展は過去16回を数え、絵画・彫刻・写真・インスタレーション・アニメーション・工芸・建築などさまざまなジャンルから活躍中の作家を選出し、その時々の日本の美術の在り様を提示してきました。17回を迎える今展では、「造形の密度と純度」というテーマのもとに、緻密で繊細な仕事をしている新進作家12名がそれぞれの展示を行うとともに、今回初めて「保存・修復」の分野での研修者3名の発表の場も設けます。国立新美術館の大きな空間の中で、次々に繰り出される絵画、版画、写真、陶芸、鋳造、アニメーション、インスタレーションといったヴァリエーション豊かな12の展示をお楽しみいただくとともに、「保存・修復」という美術品を支える重要な分野への理解を深めていただける貴重な機会になると思っております。新進芸術家海外研修制度（旧:芸術家在外研修）とは文化庁が若手芸術家を海外に派遣し、その専門とする分野の研修を支援する制度。これまで約3,180名を派遣している。美術，音楽，舞踊，演劇，映画，舞台美術等，メディア芸術の各分野を対象に1年，2年，3年，特別（80日間），短期（20日～40日）及び高校生（350日）の6種類があり，研修員は海外の大学や芸術団体，芸術家等への実践的な研修を行っている。＞この制度の詳しい内容は文化庁HPをご覧ください。http://www.bunka.go.jp/geijutsu_bunka/05kenshu/index.htmlAboutThe Agency for Cultural Affairs has run the Overseas Study Program for Artists (Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists) since FY1967.The government sends young artists overseas and provides a training course on each specialty, in order to support artists who will play a supporting role in the future art world in Japan. The number of trainees in fine art has exceeded 1,000.This Exhibition has been held 16 times to introduce the achievements of the program, where some artists, who are working on diverse categories, including painting, carving, photography, installation, animation, handicraft and architecture, are selected to show Japanese art of the times.Under the theme of “Density and Purity of Japan Contemporary Art” this 17th Exhibition focuses on 12 emerging artists who create highly delicate and dense works modeling and increase the purity of expression by such works. Three trainees in the Conservation and Restoration category will also make presentations for the first time.We hope that you can enjoy the 12 exhibits, which are rich in variation, ranging from painting to engraving, photography, pottery, casting, animation and installation, which make use of the big space of The National Art Center, Tokyo. This will be a valuable opportunity to enrich your understanding of Conservation and Restoration, which is an important category in which to support works of art.　* Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists (former title: Overseas Study Program for Artists) This is a program under which the Agency for Cultural Affairs sends young artists overseas to support their training in their specialties. About 3,180 artists have participated so far. There are six types ‒ one-year, two-year, three-year, special (80 days), short-stay (20 to 40 days) and high school student (350 days) courses ‒ in the fields of media art, including fine art, music, dance, theater, film and stage design.
